Moncure Plywood LLC would like to congratulate Mr. William Harrington and Mr. Chester Stacker as the winners of the 2010 2nd Quarter Safety Achievement Award. They have each worked safely for Moncure Plywood for over 35 years with no recordable injuries. Moncure Plywood thanks them for their efforts to work safely each day.

A staff person from North Carolina Senator Richard Burr’s office visited two different forest product facilities in North Carolina last month. The staffer, Kara Weshaar, toured Uniboard USA and Moncure Plywood with NCFA Executive Vice President Bob Slocum. The visit was came at the request of Senator Burr’s office to learn more about the forest products industry and the emerging issues facing the industry. “We appreciate when our elected officials take enough interest in our industry to visit with us or send a representative to gather information on the ground,” stated Slocum.

Richard Baldwin, Executive Vice President of Wood Resources, was named the Atlas Chairman’s Award winner for 2009. The award is presented annually to a member of the Atlas family whose effort, dedication and performance produced extraordinary results.
