Moncure Plywood Safety
Safety is a key topic every day at Moncure Plywood. We strive to work safely each day at every job by operating in compliance with all federal, state, local and company safety regulations. Our safety programs include:
- Job Safety Analysis (JSA) - where all employees are informed of how to perform their job safely including what personal protective equipment (PPE) is necessary, how to perform Lock Out / Tag Out procedures, and any other safety information that may be related to his or her work area.
- Stop Unsafe Acts - where supervisors and employees are able to observe those working and not only notify that person if they view any safe or unsafe work practices or conditions, but record this information to notice trends. These trends let us know what practices we are doing well, and where we need to focus our attention in order to improve our overall safety.
- Company Safety Committee - where an organized group of supervisors and employees gather together to discuss safe and unsafe work practices. They take the information that they view during their working shifts to the table as an organized group to discuss how as a company we can be safer. They also tour the mill as a group to record any potential unsafe hazards.
- Pre-Shift Safety Meetings - where each supervisor meets with their crew before each shift to discuss safety topics in each department. Each supervisor leads this meeting, however employee views are expressed in regards to safety in order to improve overall company safety.
